TFDPC  Signs PPP agreement 

The State’s first public private partnership (PPP) model under the forestry sector has been signed between the Tripura Forest Development and Plantation Corporation limited (TFDPC) and two private entrepreneurs i.e M/s Woody’s furniture and interior of motor stand Road , Agartala and M/s Almode Furniture ,Bhati Abhoynagar , Agartala . The agreement was signed between Shri P K Das , General Manager ,TFDPC Industrial Estate and M/s Woody’s furniture and Interior of Motor Stand Road ,Agartala and M/s
Almode Furniture ,BhatiAbhoynagar ,  Agartala in presence of Dr. V K Bahuguna , Addittional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Managing Director ,TFDPC Ltd. 

It may be stated here that the corporation is going to approach the Hon’ble  Chief Minister to inaugurate the state of the Art Common Facility Centre (CFC) for 300 carpenters under Swavalamban Scheme for production of export oriented knocked down furniture from treated rubber wood .Infrastructure worth 2 crores including machineries worth 1.5 crore rupees imported from Taiwan and China are being installed presently . 

Tripua Forest Development and plantation corporation limited is providing accommodation to these firms to produce furniture on rent basis in the CFC by making the individual carpenters as third partner on equal footing . It is expected that turn over of the Common Facility Centre will touch two crores rupees in the next one year . The CFC had already got a work order of 1.35 crores from DRDA  of South and ADC . It will provide jobs to more than 300 carpenters. NEC provided balance to the TFDPC during 2006-07. At present 125 carpenters are engaged in TFDPC . The CFC is likely to be ready for inauguration  in the first week of August ,2007.  

It may be stated here that the center was set up and upgraded by Managing Director TFDPC on the advice of Chief Minister during his visit to TFDPC Industrial Estate.
